…As the caterpillar

Don’t settle for a second-hand faith, or merely the contact high of worship. Don’t settle for the show of emotion or liturgy. Enter into the vast wonder of the presence of God.

The narrow way is stillness, where like the eye of the needle, we must unload our ego to enter in…By the skin of our teeth.

‘Come, come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest.’

So we enter into our rest and into the eternal transformation of the love of God.

Day by day we are unmade, undone like the caterpillar who spins a cocoon of transformation, where its body is being dissolved and the cells that know how to fly, weave and create a butterfly.

In our cocoon of stillness, we evolve under the eternal hands of our Master. We are fitted and changed becoming life-giving spirits at our core.

We work out this eternal into our life…eating our way out of our cocoons, developing the eternal character of love, joy, and peace, integrating our ego into its place as the servant of love.

We stretch out the wings of our eternal nature with patience, kindness, and goodness, as we work out gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control into our life with others.

So we fwly as life-giving spirits, being both of earth and of heaven. We are in Christ and Christ is in us.

I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a writer, a friend. I cook, clean, work, teach, study, live, love and laugh, but when it’s all said and done, I still feel empty. I want what I can’t have, I’ve wanted it for a long time but it was taken. I thought to myself, the desire for it should go away now that I’ve prayed…I’ve cried, begged, pleaded and even pretended it wasn’t there; I cry out to God and beg Him to please just take this from me, do something to strip me of the earthly desires, of the evil in my heart and nothing happens…it’s still there and some days it’s hard to swallow and suck down the tears inside, it hurts so much and in one brief moment, it could all be gone so quickly! He gives me words to bless others with and release my own thoughts.
