Live Intentionally

I believe the prime purpose in my life has been to help others.

Since I was about 12 years old I have been doing just that. I don’t share this to boast or seek fame. I have volunteered at many organizations for most of my life. My dad did this too, my mom as well. Growing up I never knew it was anything Biblical or a Commandment. I just saw my parents do it and I did what they did. I never thought much about it for most of those years. I always heard the phrase, “see a need, meet a need”. I always did, I did it willingly and openly and never would have imagined that some of those saw me as gullible, and sadly they took great advantage of that.

Now I understand what it means to help others and be a part of volunteerism.

Now, I live intentionally and sometimes looking for ways to help others.

Closing your ears to those in need

Proverbs 21:13 Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

Proverbs 14:31 Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Scripture tells us that we are to show interest to those who need help. If someone asks you to pray for them, then pray. If someone begs for some water, food, or money, then give it to them. When you do these righteous things you are doing God’s will, working for God, and bringing peace and contentment and blessings on others..

Think about others

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.

Philippians 2:4 Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.

Proverbs 29:7 The godly care about the rights of the poor; the wicked don’t care at all.

Proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Don’t help others for show or recognition like some do, just help someone.

Do not help with a grudging heart, but with a loving heart.

Every act of kindness to others is an act of kindness to our Father.

I encourage you to start today and lend a helping hand to others in need.

We shouldn’t just limit helping people to just giving them money, food, and clothes. Sometimes people just need someone there to Listen.

Sometimes people just need words of knowledge that you have learned, share it and it becomes wisdom for you and they can pass it on to give knowledge to someone else in need.

Think about the many different ways you can help others today.

Mark 12:31 Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a writer, a friend. I cook, clean, work, teach, study, live, love and laugh, but when it’s all said and done, I still feel empty. I want what I can’t have, I’ve wanted it for a long time but it was taken. I thought to myself, the desire for it should go away now that I’ve prayed…I’ve cried, begged, pleaded and even pretended it wasn’t there; I cry out to God and beg Him to please just take this from me, do something to strip me of the earthly desires, of the evil in my heart and nothing happens…it’s still there and some days it’s hard to swallow and suck down the tears inside, it hurts so much and in one brief moment, it could all be gone so quickly! He gives me words to bless others with and release my own thoughts.
